The Examination Cell of Viswajyothi College of Engineering and Technology (VJCET) functions as an autonomous and professionally managed unit that oversees all examination-related activities of the institution. The Cell ensures transparency, accuracy and confidentiality in the conduct of examinations and evaluation processes, in line with the academic regulations approved by the Academic Council.
The Examination Cell is headed by the Controller of Examinations (CoE), who reports to the Principal, the Chief Controller of Examinations. The CoE is assisted by Deputy Controllers of Examinations, an Assistant Controller, examination assistants, and administrative and technical staff. This team works in close coordination with departments to implement examination policies effectively and to maintain the integrity of the process.

The primary objective of the Examination Cell is to ensure continuous and comprehensive evaluation of students through Continuous Internal Evaluation (CIE) and End Semester Examinations (ESE). It manages the complete cycle of examinations — preparation of schedules, question paper setting, printing, invigilation, valuation, tabulation and publication of results.
The office of the Controller of Examinations is equipped with secure storage, confidential printing and scanning units, CCTV surveillance, and computers with restricted access. The entire process is supported by a dedicated examination management software system to maintain data security and operational efficiency.
All examinations are held strictly as per the approved Academic and Examination Calendar. Each semester includes at least two internal assessments and one end semester examination. The CoE ensures secrecy and fairness through multiple levels of checks such as question bank generation, vetting by subject experts, and scrutiny by designated boards.
Detailed procedures are followed for hall allocation, invigilation, observer and squad duties, and the use of barcoded answer booklets to preserve anonymity during evaluation. The Cell operates an online portal for examination registration, hall ticket generation, attendance recording, and mark entry.
After the completion of examinations, a centralized valuation process is conducted under the supervision of the Deputy Controller of Examinations (Valuation). The valuation procedure with the first examiner and second examiner ensures reliability, and in cases of significant variation, a third valuation is arranged. Marks are tabulated automatically and verified before submission to the Pass Board, which reviews and finalizes the results.
Students have the opportunity to apply for scrutiny, revaluation or review of their answer scripts to ensure fairness and transparency.
The VJCET Examination Manual (Revision B) clearly defines procedures for the conduct of examinations, valuation, publication of results, and addressing grievances, if any. The manual also specifies guidelines for conducting examinations for students with disabilities, providing provisions such as scribes and compensatory time.

Through structured procedures, technological support and a dedicated team, the Cell ensures that every examination is conducted smoothly, results are processed accurately, and the credibility of the institution’s evaluation system is maintained.
