The Student Council is an active and dynamic community that plays a vital role in the campus life of our institution. It takes the lead in organizing and coordinating major events such as Bodhi (the academic fest), Drishya (the arts fest), and Drona (the sports fest), ensuring smooth execution and enthusiastic participation. Through its leadership, the council fosters teamwork, creativity, and student engagement across all domains of college life. The Student Council includes various key positions such as Chairman, Vice Chairperson, General Secretary, and University Union Councillors. Other important roles include Editor, Arts Club Secretary, Sports Club Secretary, Lady Representatives, SC/ST Representative, and Association Representatives from various departments.
The Student Council at VJCET is constituted through a Parliamentary system of election in accordance with the Lyngdoh Committee recommendations. Elected class representatives from each class form the electoral college and collectively elect the office bearers of the Union council , including the Chairman, Vice-Chairman, General Secretary, University Union Councillors, College Magazine Editor, Arts Club Secretary, and Lady Representatives. The elected Union council members subsequently nominate the Sports Club Secretary and the SC/ST representative also to the Council. This structured process ensures representation across classes, gender, and community while maintaining discipline and fairness in campus elections.
