The SC/ST Cell plays a crucial role in educational institutions by promoting the welfare and interests of students from the Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities. VJCET established SC/ST Cell to serve as a bridge between the administration and the SC/ST students, addressing grievances and ensuring their participation in both academic and extracurricular activities. In addition, the cell encourages students from these communities to enroll in career orientation and skill enhancement programs, equipping them with the necessary skills to explore various career opportunities.
Objectives
To ensure the implementation of the reservation policy for SC/ST communities in universities and colleges.
To gather and analyze data on the implementation of reservation policies regarding admissions, in universities and affiliated colleges, and monitor the trends in fulfilling the required quotas.
To take necessary follow-up actions to meet the objectives and targets established by the Government of India and the UGC.
To continuously monitor and evaluate the reservation policy’s effectiveness in universities and colleges, and to plan and implement measures that ensure its successful execution in accordance with government guidelines.
