The Department of Computer Science and Engineering offers the following programmes.
B.Tech Programmes
The department of Computer Science Engineering started in the year 2001 with an intake of 60 seats, in the year 2008 it is increased to 120 and in the year 2023 another 60 is added up.
M.Tech Programme
MULTIMEDIA LAB
The lab is equipped with sufficient number of computers well enough to accommodate each student having separate computers for doing programmes, so that student’s get the best exposure and confidence. This lab is used for first year undergraduate students for their basic programming lab such as Python programming, C programming, Data structure and compiler Design Labs. Developer C++ and Python Programming Language are used to familiarize programming basics.

PROJECT LAB
This laboratory is specially designed for the Computer Science and Engineering department to facilitate the students to do their mini and major projects inside the campus. It has 35 computers. All are networked and well furnished. The projects done by the Computer Science and Engineering Students are in–house projects. Projects vary from System software and Application software development, design and optimization of new algorithms, database projects, graphics application development. This laboratory in the department is made available to all faculty and students for their research and project activities.

NETWORK SYSTEMS LAB
The lab is well equipped with 35 computers that facilitate to train students about network configuration and management. This lab is used for socket programming between client and server in a network scenario using different network protocols. It is also equipped with softwares to develop the knowledge about database design and implementation using RDBMS. This lab is mainly utilized by students of Semester II (Computer Programming Lab), Semester III(Data Structures Lab), Semester IV(FOSS Lab), Semester V(Database Lab), and Semester VI (Network Programming Lab).

MICROPROCESSOR LAB
The Micro Processor Lab is one of the oldest laboratories in the institution under the Department of Computer Science & Engineering. A well-equipped Microprocessor Lab with advanced facilities to do their experiments are provided in this laboratory. We are using Micro-86 EB1 Trainer Kit, Intel 8086/8088 CPU at 5/4.77 MHz clock rate. The device has 40 pins, + 5 V power supply with 16×2 LCD DISPLAY and having 48 I/O lines using two numbers of 8255. It can access upto 1 GB of physical memory. This is to familiarize the students with 8086, MASM programming, and 8051 Microcontroller trainer kit and various interfacing boards.

VOICE is the association of the Computer Science & Engineering department. VOICE plays its vital role of giving opportunities and exposure for the young minds of the department to the tech world through different events like Technical Quiz, Technical Talks, Group Discussions, Workshops etc. VOICE is run by the student coordinators under the guidance of faculty members from the department.
Association Activities (2023-2024)
VOICE, the association of Computer Science and Engineering, inaugurated its association activities for the academic year 2023-2024 on November 16, 2023, at the college main auditorium. The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome address by Mr. Amel Austine, Head of the Department, CSE. Following this, Rev. Dr Paul Parathazham, the Director, spoke about how important these association activities are for students. Dr K. K. Rajan, the Principal, also highlighted how these activities help students grow in different ways. The formal inauguration was marked by the lighting of the lamp by Mr. Benny Xavier. He then captivated the audience with an engaging technical talk titled "The Riafy Journey: Building AI that Matters." In his talk, he shared insights into Riafy Technologies' innovative work in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and its impact on various industries.The ceremony witnessed several highlights, including the launch of the CSE Association logo and newsletter, the distribution of prizes to the winners of the Sinu Arby Memorial Quiz Competition, and the recognition of the semester toppers. Additionally, a range of cultural events were conducted. The formal function concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Ms. Ananya S, Association Secretary CSE.
Sinu Arby Memorial Quiz Competition 2023
The Sinu Arby Memorial Quiz Competition, an event organized in association with the CSE department, concluded on November 16th, 2023, with a thrilling final round. The preliminary round was conducted on 8 th November 2023 as an initial screening stage. The final round, held on November 16th, brought together the top teams from the preliminary round for an intense intellectual showdown. The final round culminated in the declaration of the winning teams. K H Meghana and Nandana Jinesh of S3 CS A secured the first prize and Denis Kurian Deepu and Joe Joseph Lijo of S3 CS B secured the second prize.
Workshop on ICT Education for Housewives
The CSE department celebrated National Education Day by organizing a helpful online session for housewives on November 11, 2023. Over 100 housewives have joined to learn about the features of Google's ICT tools and Google Pay. The event aimed to give participants useful knowledge about using Google's tools for work and explained how to safely make digital payments.

Association Activities (2022-2023)
The computer science association for the year was inaugurated on 4th January 2023 at college main auditorium. Mr. Amel Austine (Hod, CSE) delivered the welcome speech. Dr K K Rajan (Principal) delivered speech on the significance of association activities in student life. Mr. Somy P Mathew (Vice principal) felicitated the gathering. The event was formally inaugurated by lighting of the lamp by the chief guest Mr.Ajay Joseph, Engagement Manager at Tata Consultancy Service and a technical talk on “Future of Software Engineers” was conducted. The highlights of the ceremony were CSI website launch, prize distribution for toppers and various technical and cultural events. The formal function came to an end with the vote of thanks by Ms. Avanthika R (Association Secretary CSE).

The association activities for the year was inaugurated by Mr. Akhil Somnath, Senior Software Engineer, Microsoft, Seattle, (US) on 16Th March 2021 in a live Zoom Platform, and a talk “Bit and Bytes- Life as a software Engineer in Microsoft” was arranged.
2018-19
The association activities for the year was inaugurated by Dr. Vineesh K P ,Faculty, NIT Calicut on 3rd October, 2018, and a technical talk on Machine Learning was conducted. The newsletter was also released on the same venue.
