Profile

Better interaction between Academic Institutions and Industry is the need of the hour. Realizing the relevance and importance of this, Industry Institute Interaction Cell of VJCET has started its functioning formally since 02.05.2016. Mr. Vinoj K was appointed as Convener, Industry Institute Interaction Cell with effect from 01.07.2020. Shri Vinoj is a person with commendable leadership qualities and was heading Department of Mechanical Engineering from February 2011 to November 2019. IIIC is looking for effective interaction between industry, research organizations and reputed institutes so as to improve the quality of the technical education and enhance the employability of engineering graduates. It also helps to meet the needs of the industry. Industry Institute Interaction would provide input to better teaching & learning processes, create awareness about the environment in industry, provide real practical knowledge and self-confidence to students. IIIC of VJCET has organized many activities in VJCET from its inception. MOUs were signed with many industries from different domains of Engineering to ensure effective collaboration between the industry and the institute in a formal and systematic manner. Regular interaction with industries helped in equipping students with the proper skill and set to become competent industry ready Engineers. Activities such as technical talks from industrial experts, industrial visits, internships, trainings, workshops etc. were organized for students and faculty regularly. The BARC outreach programme organized by IIIC on the theme “Atomic Energy for Brighter Future” has attracted the attention of students and was well appreciated. An R & D project costing rupees 34 lakhs for developing lead lithium level sensor was awarded to VJCET by BRNS and was completed successfully. As part of International Industry Interaction, VJCET management has taken a decision to depute a high-level delegation to visit research centres & universities abroad and Hannover Messe. The team could visit reputed universities and research centres in Europe and the largest international industrial trade fair in the world the Hannover Messe. The experience gained and the exposure to research activities, modern technologies and manufacturing processes were inspiring and encouraging. Collaboration was made with the agency Senior Experten Services (SES), Germany and their services are being successfully utilized. Experts from SES visited VJCET and conducted faculty development programmes, seminars and workshops for the benefit faculty and students. Creating opportunities for students and faculty members to do research, projects, higher studies, internships etc. in Germany and other European countries will lead to a paradigm shift of the engineering education at VJCET. The IIIC coordination committee sincerely thank the Management for rendering all support, guidance and cooperation for conducting various activities of IIIC from its inception.
