Department of Management Studies of VISWAJYOTHI College of Engineering and Technology, (VJCET) approved by AICTE and affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU), Kerala, started the full-time MBA course in 2009. VMA is completely a student driven organization for the promotion of the curricular and extracurricular activities in the campus. It acts as a bridge between the student body and the administration in matters of general, academic or individual importance while ensuring that all guidelines are followed. It has an executive committee selected by the students of the department. Executive committee has members from both first year and second year batches. Alumni’s, who were members of the committee, plays a vital role in mentoring the association. VMA organizes programmes for college day, Independence Day, republic day and other important days. VMA plays a big role in conducting national symposiums and conferences. They make sure the student life at VISWAJYOTHI is colourful and memorable.
MA is very active in providing Induction Programme for all students at the start of the course. They will debrief the forthcoming challenges and issues faced by the students during the course of the MBA programme. They also conduct sessions on Communication skills, fostering interpersonal relationships, time management, goal setting, public speaking, career opportunities, soft skill development, study techniques and life skills in general are covered during the programme. Thus such programmes will help them to alleviate their fears and apprehensions about their compatibility in a business management atmosphere.
FINANCE CLUB
Finance Club of Department of Management Studies is a platform for acquiring financial knowledge, a place for interactive learning and an ideal club to facilitate career development for finance students. It is a club that connects students of MBA , alumni, industry experts and academicians. Finance club also conducts Business quiz and discussions, handles fund management and trading games which help them to learn more about stock market ,portfolio management and financial analysis. It provides forum for financial research and analysis, and publish their research findings.

OPERATIONS FORUM
Operations aims to help students to gain knowledge in this domain by bringing industry experts and exploring opportunities to visit manufacturing plants. This forum also prepares students for inter-collegiate management fests.

MBA ACADEMIC ADVISORY COUNCIL
An Academic Advisory Council for the MBA course of the Viswajyothi College of Engineering and Technology was constituted on 14th October 2016. Advisory board has 14 members headed by Msgr. Dr. Pius Malenkandathil (Manager) and Rev. Fr. Paul Nedumburath as the secretary. The members are nominated by the Board of Trustees.
PROGRAMME ASSESSMENT COMMITTEE (PAC)
The Program Assessment Committee (PAC) has been formed for monitoring of different activities related to the MBA Program The PAC consists of faculty members of the department who periodically monitor the activities and evaluate different parameters.
ABOUT PLACEMENT CELL
Placement is a very important activity at VISWAJYOTHI College of Engineering and Technology .VJCET has an independent placement cell focused to cater to the needs of leading organizations in conducting campus interviews for the final year. The placement officer is assisted by student representatives. The committee evolves a broad policy framework every year. Students are closely co-opted in implementing these policy decisions. The cell keeps close liaison with various industrial establishments (both private and public sectors), which conduct campus interviews and select the student from all disciplines. Most of them visit the Campus for holding campus interviews. Department of Management Studies have a department representative who co ordinates the placement activities synchronizing with placement department.
INDUSTRY FAMILIARISATION PROGRAMME
Department of Management Studies regularly conducts invited talks from various industries such as Banking, Insurance, Retailing, IT, Automobile, Steel and Energy. We also facilitate panel discussions on rising challenges in the industry with a global outlook. Apart from talks and discussion, we arrange internship opportunity to our students. Every student, after completing their first year, has to associate with a company for a period of two months. During the program, students will obtain on the job work experience and get an opportunity to conduct a research project in their area of interest. Thus, our students will get a first experience of their future job while they study at Viswajyothi.
BUSINESS QUIZ
The Business Quiz happens weekly once which is mainly conducted by the students based on the news from the Business Line of the respective week. The students are divided into various groups that compete with each other. The winning group is awarded prizes. Each group is coordinated and guided by a faculty.
INDUSTRY INTERACTIONS
As we expect all of our students to join a company immediately after the program, we prepare them to rightly orient to understand the industry dynamics and expectations. We regularly take our students to seminars and conferences conducted by the industry and management associations in locations such as Cochin, Thiruvananthapuram, Bangalore and Chennai. Many of our students and Faculty are members of Kerala Management Association. Students build rapport with industrialists and these network of connections help them to identify internships, projects and even get placed in companies.

INDUSTRY VISIT AND CONCURRENT FIELD WORK
Our MBA programme is designed in such a way that students have to visit a company and conduct a field work in every core subjects they learn in this course. Every students, mostly in groups, makes at least a visit to a company in every week. Thus they practice or learn to practice while they study the subject in the department.
