Solar Power Plant

Event Details Images

VJCET realized the relevance of emission free energy sources for the sustainable development of our nation. Hence, Solar power plants are installed in VJCET in three stages. Effective participation of students and staff were ensured during the erection and commissioning of solar power plants. Total Capacity of Solar Power Plant in our campus is 280kWp and is directly connected to the utility grid of KSEB. Solar energy meets about 63% of our energy demand. Excess power generated by the solar power system during holidays is fed to the utility grid.

There are THREE grid connected solar power plants at VJCET

  1. 50 kW power plant at the roof top of C block: Commissioned in 2017
  2. 200 kW Power plant at the roof top of D block: Commissioned in October 2019
  3. 30 kW plant at the roof top of St Thomas block, Gents hostel commissioned in November 2020

Total Capacity: 280 kWp
